Nikon SP Diopter correction

Is there anyway to fit the Nikon SP 2005 with a dioter correction lens? I use them with my Leicas and my Contax IIa but I not sure how you would do it with a Nikon SP.

Go to the "PDF Archive" section on the Nikon Historical Society, there is an article on how to modify a Nikon Diopter to fit an SP. It is a PDF.

www.nikonhistoricalsociety.com front right col. I wrote it years ago, still works.

The SP has slots, if you look close, and once and awhile an original Nikon diopter is for sale.

Just take your time, when you have the eyepiece in hand it is pretty obvious how to mod it. Do make it a tight fit, or you will lose it.

I have just seen this post as i was searching for diopter that fits my S3 Millenium. Would this nikon historical society hack for the EM/FG diopters also work for the S3?

If not any other tips?

I just saw this post as I recently got an SP and needed eyepiece correction. Here’s an update to the very helpful advice above, referencing the PDF instructions on how to modify the Nikon DK-20C currently-available eyepiece corrector. I did not file off the little “ears” as recommended in the modification instructions. I did thin the back of the DK-20C, which worked brilliantly. The little ears flex and actually help hold the corrector in place. This is a great solution, and thank you to the poster for having posted it long ago - it’s still helping people like me!
