He started sleeping like that three days after moving in 6 years ago. Hard to believe so much time has gone by so fast.

Wow! It is hard to believe that Sneaky has been with you for 6 years!
You sure made a difference in his life.

Yeah, it was in November, 2018 that he first came up to me skin and bones starved. He went from this...

bad dream?

bad dream?
Probably dreaming of fighting with Marshmallow. He lives in the trailer park across the road from my house; the same trailer park Sneaky came from. Though Sneaky has been living in my house for six years he has been trying to build an empire (being a mere king is not enough) that includes the trailer park. Problem is that at least three other tomcats live over there, and Sneaky goes over and starts fights with all of them. He especially hates Marshmallow, a white and orange shorthaired cat. They got in a nasty fight a couple nights ago. Even though they were in the middle of the trailer park I could hear it inside my house 400 feet away! I went over there and made Sneaky come home. He was NOT happy with me. I wish my cat wasn't the neighborhood bully/thug.

Can't you see that I'm STARVING here? I gave Sneaky a huge plate of turkey while I was eating a sandwich a few nights ago. He ate it, then demanded more, and stretched out on the counter looking sad and starved trying to get sympathy from my son, who petted him, but did not give more turkey. He got bitchy when he realized that Mack didn't believe his lies about starvation!

Likely dream plotting revenge on those furbag monsters up the street. Or chasing mice in the clouds. Or whatever cats dream.
By my (admittedly off-the-cuff) calculations, Sneaky would have been at least one year old or even 18 months old when you 'adopted' (or vice-versa) you. Which would make him about eight. A respectable age for a cat who doesn't stay indoors and goes out to see how the world is. And still picks fights with his furry peers.
Your photos show that he has bonded with you and his life is now yours (or vice-versas).
There are so many vice-versas at play when one owns a cat (or vice-versa).
Following all this from day one. We all wish him a very long and ongoing happy life with you. Like our Oskar, who is now 12 going on 13 and showing signs of finally growing old. I will post an image of him soon - in the cat thread elsewhere in RFF. Surely Sneaky would do a super hissy if I dared to put it here...

I took him in six years ago. He had fleas, and was eating a lot and was still skin and bones so I took him to the vet. The doctor found tapeworms and treated them and the fleas, and he started to fatten up. When I took him in there the first time, the vet thought Sneaky was about 3 years old. If that was an accurate estimate, he is about 9 now. So, yeah, he is getting old. I can't believe its been six years already! It was in November, 2018 I first met him.
I'll look for Oscar in the cat thread. ❤️

So last night I did a bunch of laundry, including a bunch of shirts and the sheets on my bed.
I was trying to put hangers on the shirts when Sneaky came in, jumped on the bed, and curled up on my pile of shirts to sleep. He refused to move, so I went to the kitchen and shook a bag of treats. He came RUNNING and I gave him some treats. I went back to my bedroom and began working on my shirts again. Sneaky quickly returned and went back to sleep on my pile of shirts. He tried to scratch me when I tried to move him!
I still had another basket of shirts to hang, so I laid out a second pile of shirts to put hangers on, and began working on them. Sneaky noticed my attempt at subverting him, and stretched out across BOTH piles of shirts to ensure that NO shirts would be put on hangers, and that cat hair would be added to even more clean shirts.

You have to teach Sneaky how to spell! They are coat hangers not cat hangers.

My son’s Sneaky-like visits my cupboard. Clearly interested in camera stuff!
He's beautiful. He's looking for things to knock off the shelves!

Sneaky thinks that the treats were a reward for curling up on your shirts, so he did it a second time for more treats. He's no fool! BTW, plastic coat hangers are my cat's favorite toy. Why? Never ask that question regarding cat behavior...View attachment 4850435

Last night, I was reading on the sofa and Sneaky was sleeping with his head on my lap. I started getting tired and put the book down and fell asleep; then Sneaky climbed up on me and head-butted me before falling asleep across my chest and stomach with his face in my beard. He slept there about an hour before waking me up to feed him.
