KoNickon
Nick Merritt
I have two of these, one in Nikon AIS mount and the other in Canon FD. I pulled out the Canon one and noticed that it has haze. I removed the rear lens group (very easy with a spanner wrench) and took that apart (also easy, though more effort required). If anyone wants more details on how, just send me a note.
But -- the haze is in between the two elements just behind the aperture, which appear to be bonded together (not cemented, just peened together, for lack of a better term), and so beyond my skills to get at. (This is probably the sort of thing I'd send to Focal Point if they were still in operation.)
I guess at bottom I'm just asking if anyone has dealt with this on this lens -- optically I think it's a different design from the later versions.
I'm also curious on others' experiences with this lens -- I really like it so having the haze is disappointing.
Thanks for reading.
