Voigtlander Ultron 35mm F2 Aspherical Images

I feel like this typifies what to love (very, very low geometric distortion, excellent flare resistance, sharp, pleasant tones) and what to tolerate (strong, distinct bokeh) about this lens. I am happy to report that after using my version II quite a bit, the focus friction is starting to feel more uniform and comfortable...it just took a few months.

On Velvia 50 this lens does quite well. A minor nitpick is it doesn't seem to retain as much color information in underexposed areas as modern (1970s and later) Leica glass. Downsizing for uploading here takes a big toll on those shadows as well.

Velvia looks sooo good. It’s such a distinctive, wonderful film. Love these shots

Query: What do you feel is the optimal aperture with the Ultron (best balance of sharpness, bokeh, contrast, vignetting). I'm leaning toward 2.8!

VL Ultron 35/2.0, wide open, at M 240, profile "35f/2 11310/11311"

Giving almost zero distortion and some vignetting (as what I am reading from this thread), using profile "35f/2 11310/11311" on digital M sounds better than using the profile of 35 f2 ASPH. Hope I could try it soon.

On my M10-P, rangefinder couples to 0.6m with Ultron 35mm f2.
It seems profile "35 f/2 11310/11311" is a good choice.

All sample photos are taken by M10-P and cut to left half. Pay attention to left-top corner.
