Modified for F-Mount.
Please post some pictures OF the lens showing the Mount.
I have a couple of M42 mount Tessars, made a best 2 of 3. I also have some 5cm F2.8 Tessars going back to 1931.

These are with a Carl Zeiss Jena 5cm F2.8, from ~1938. The front element was in very bad condition, but for $100 on a Contax II- no complaints.
I replaced the front element with one from a post-war Contaflex. It worked.
On the M9, using an adapter.
The early 5cm F2.8 Tessar was "not so good" wide-open. One lens where the 5cm F3.5 is preferred by many.
