Well-known
These days it's being filmed a movie about the real figure of Francesc Boix, a Catalan war photographer and member of the communist party who was exiled after the fascist victory in Spain in 1939. In 1940 he was imprisoned by the germans, who put him in Mauthausen concentration camp. His knowledge of photography saved his life, as he was forced to work in the lager dark room and witness thousands of murders. What the Germans didn't know is that he hid thousands of pictures taken by the SS of their own crimes. These pictures were used as evidence agaist Kaltenbrunner and other nazis and Boix himself was a witness in Nuremberg.
The movie will be named "El fotografo de Mauthausen" (The photographer of Mauthausen), and a comic has already appeared. In it, Boix (and the nazis) appear with a Leica III.
