Wow, interesting. Pyle was attached to my late grandfather's tank regiment (or more accurately the battle group) whilst they were in North Africa. I like to think that some of the non-stock photos I have were taken by him but of course that's highly unlikely...

This is wonderful. While I don't remember Pyle directly (I am a baby boomer born shortly after the conclusion of WWII), his legend was in the air when I was a youngster, and he was lauded by my parents.
