Hello - I picked up a Leica yesterday. I contacted James and he believes it was sent to the Navy. He's asked for the lens serial and said it might help confirm if it was sent with the body.

I figured I'd share some photos of it for those who might be interested in seeing this camera.

Verified/confirmed units fetch pretty steep collector prices. What did you pay? If it was a bargain, the price probably goes a long ways towards telling you if it has been faked or not....there are no "deals/finds" in these anymore.

At least the "creator" didn't use some silly Russian copy.

Nicca is much more ideal for knock offs.

Why people are so into Nazies gear, is behind of my humanity approach.

I'm not into Nazi anything. I just collect and flip cameras as a hobby. Why people get so bent out of shape over historical artifacts is beyond me.

I couldn't resist the temptation. All of the timings seemed correct, and everything looked good so I loaded a roll of Kentmere 400 and ran it through the IIIa.

Here are some sample shots if anyone is interested in seeing what an 80 year old camera and lens can do.

Kentmere 400 @ iso 400 in ID11 stock solution.
