Looking at the Leicameter MC, MR, MR-4, etc...question about the 'channels.'

When taking a reading, the needle points to a particular silver or black section.

The manuals refer to 9 channels, but there are 6 silver sections (the first one having the -0- indicator) and 5 black ones -- a total of 11.

Which ones are the actual 9 channels, and which two aren't?

The attached chart is for the Leicameter MC, showing the light values for the three measuring levels (red dot, black dot, and booster)

I went looking at the Technical Data for my MR4, and on pg 18 (last page), part of the channel explanation question may lie in the MR meter's F-stop range. Not so much a black-silver count. Here's what my manual says: A Measurement at 100,000 apostilbs/9,200 footlamberts is possible. The indicator needle will then pass channel 9 in range 2. What also interesting is that even the calibration values are different on my MR4, than your MC.

I photographed the page in question and it's attached.. DSCN5016_MR4.JPG
