Mamiya 7 II vs Canon 10D for landscape work.

I have a M7II. I compared the results with my Canon 10D for a landscape shot with a background subject with a lot of very fine datail. No comparison! The M7 blew it away. Apparently even with all those pixels, a distant subject with a lot of detail images much better with the M7. This is not a condemnation of the Canon 10D, only an observation of a particular situation.
I believe that the small size of the distant subject does not activate enough pixels in the sensor to adequately represent the image with fine detail.
Any comments??

I like my Mamiya 7 with the 43mm lens for landscapes over any digital I've seen- I'll create a 100MB scan and be able to zoom in on the screen an amazing amount, to an incredible level of detail that simply can't be digitally met.

You just can't get M7 II resolution out of the 10D digital. The Mamiya lenses, particularly the 43 mm, are just suberb. The 10 D, or any DSLR, is just not going to deliver the clarity and sharpness of medium format
