Who has a Leica M6 TTL Millenium

Hello, I am offered a Leica M6 TTL Millenium edition. I wonder who of our RFF members (and Leica forum members - I put a cross reference at their forum) has such a camera. What I especially find attraktive is that it is a kind of MP or M2 but with a large shutterspeed wheel.

I don't have any photos yet so if you have one, please show it here and let me know whether you really use it or leave it stored in a kabinet.

I am also interested in the serial of yours since there are supposed to be only 2000 of them and I am curious which ones are in the hands of our members.

BTW, I am still interested to ascertain where these 2000 cameras are kept. Here is what I found so far. In order to rule out numbers of cameras still for sale at the shops, I also provided their nrs in the list.

I don't have one but I've handled one in person.
What I like: black paint finish, big shutter dial, engraving, black frame counter.
What I don't like: MP rewind knob, it's a collectable. It has the red dot, which doesn't bother me but I know some people won't like it.
In addition to the serial number there is a number engraved on the hotshoe saying which # out of 2000 it is.

For those that like the easy big dial rotation that rotate in the direction of the red exposure indication arrow should use this camera. Although I must admit that sometime I need to re-orientate the rotation when using other M...

Don't worry about BP scratches...just use it and let the BP brass...it's a keeper and shooter...

The M6 Millennium was produced in 2000 (2,500,001 – 2,502,000) and represented the first BP camera Leica had produced in ~32 years. Variations included the ICS (200 units), Safari (300 in green paint), 2000 Dragon (500), Oresund Bridge (150), and LHSA (~1,150, but I don't believe there is an 'official' number) – all produced the same year (2000), accept the safari, which was 2001.

The last two (Oresund Bridge and LHSA) had the slanted M4/M6 style RW crank. The others had the M2/3 style 'post' RW.

Note (edit): The sr. numbers on these special edition cameras reached into the 2,6xx,xxx range and were produced two to three years prior to the introduction of the MP.

I have one , bought new in 2000 , never used it , not one film . It is brand new in the box in a locker in the bank .

My user is a regular TTL chrome . I never touched the BP since many years , so I guess it will need cla if I ever want to sell it ? Before I used to go to the bank from time to time and go through all the speeds and turn the focussing ring and aperture ring . Right now , I think the prices might be too low .

I have one and it is my main film camera these days. I love its large shutter speed dial (with a nice knurl on it). I changed its RED dot to a black dot. Started brassing

The LHSA TTL is one of the most beautiful Leica I ever had. Sadly I sold it to a fellow RF member as I really can't bear to see it wear on my hands. The black paint is gorgeous and the black dot (only original black dot for film Leica) as well. This must be cheaper than the millenium I believe.

I'm looking for a Millenium edition, (to modify into a 0.85 finder) or a NSH Black Paint 0.85 (CODE 10447) or a LHSA Black Paint 0.85

I just found my Millenium in the mail and it is really gorgeous camera!! and definitely a keeper (although I will have to sell some gear myself in order to justify this investment).

What I prefer about the Millenium above the LHSA is the rewind knob which makes it a real classic for me.

Btw mine has number 95.

I want to find one hopefully very soon.....

I have one - number 721. My wife bought it for me from her VR payment when she left her Bank job in 2000. It is my 'go to' regular shooter and has been all over the world with me. The odd little 'knick' but not yet brassing. Saving for an M9 right now and wondering if the M6 will survive the process - hope so. Couple it to a Chrome Screw Thread Summicron Asph - quite rare, and gives the Panda look. Also have an old Canadian Summilux with specs I love to use with it.

Wish you good luck and hope you find one soon Tom. I'm not sure how many were made in 0.85 but clearly the 0.72 is the more 'common' one.

They did make a 0.85 version of the Millenium edition , the 10447 camera, I think built for Japanese market???

I'll be adding the 0.85 finder no matter what I do.......

Some years back I found a 'spare part' Millennium topcover and converted my M7 to a BP MP-7 one-of-a-kind. All of the BP parts were ordered through Leica.

I sold the camera to a collector a few years ago to finance another purchase - I believe it was an M8.

Am I alone in thinking that that is one of the nicest and most underrated Leicas ever produced? Thats right up there with a BP M4 on my want list now.
