I just printed this ...

Just printed an hour ago. The neg was thin because of exhausted developer so I had hard time with contrast and dodging, but I'm happy with the result.

Paris, France.

Hi Chris, I think it’s just the developer becoming exhausted on the dark edge, it’s a bit light on each of the spokes, a bit more agitation would help maybe?

Thanks Stewart (and others!) - I'll try it with a little more rocking the dish. Someone else has commented that the light area at top right needs to be darkebed a bit too.

So glad you started this thread - very inspiring!

Wow, thank you .. I don't think I had seen the blind chap until I'd gone over the contacts, I usually just look for the rhythm so I would have been watching at the feet at the time

Love this picture - the well-balanced composition as well as the expressions on the gentlemen's faces. Well done Stewart.

Cheers, Vincent

Thanks Vincent, I've had a few attempts, the chaps face on the right is underexposed ... the chap in the middle and the one right are veterans of the Murmansk convoys, one on a merchant-man and the other on a RN cruiser

PS I have a this shot taken a few moments later that's spoiled by camera shake
