I've noticed on occasion when I buy something online, it might include something "extra," like the occasional family picture, an extra goodie, or something like I attached, which came with a $1 replacement FSU spool.

Who else gets this stuff? Do you think it's cool? Do you keep it?

I purchased an Elmar once and the seller included a FED2 he'd worked on as he thought his asking price was actually higher than what the lens was worth as the lens needed some work.

I ended up trading the lens later on as I preferred the extra speed and look of a Summar but still have the FED 2. :)

I get small micro-fibre cloths, camera straps, caps, and other small things when I get things on ebay from Hong Kong. I once got a pretty rare and expensive nikon hood with a leica lens

micro-fibre lens cloths, keychains, jade lucky charms and random lens caps that don't fit anything that I own

first i was surprized about the price of my billingham small hadley. but then i found an M9 inside.

Yeah I get small occassional freebies everynow and then for camera related purchases, like cleaning cloths, lens pen, stickers, pins, umbrellas, and sometimes a filter oor two..

I received a free modular pouch when I ordered a TT Retro 20. Just to go to the link below and click on the Thinktank logo - it takes you to the Thinktank site. Order anything over $50 and you get a freebie. Not related to this site in any way.

back to 2009, when I purchase a bunch of Leica gears from an old photographer (I paid 3,300EUR in total), I got from him the following things as "free":

- Leica 50/2 collapsible: haze heavily and many scratchs (though pictures taken still okay)
- a Billingham bag for Leica
- a Luigi halfcase

I have to admit that I sold many of them with good price and now I have plenty of Leica gears for almost free!

Over the years with my purchases I've gotten; postcards, a million dollar bill, chamois lens cleaning pads, a copy of the seller's artwork prints, a 1970s Soviet Paratrooper patch, key-rings and pens.

I've thrown in goodies, like film etc. but never received. I think it's very cool that people just thrown in freebie, especially things like whole cameras.

The last time I sold a camera I included a free tame Orangutan that was trained to use a European-style toilet. It was difficult sealing the box, but after using a hammer I managed to close and mail it.

I once had an asthma attack after unpacking a used enlarger
that smelled as if it had been stored in a horse barn.

I once got a tenner in a second hand coat I bought for £2, I went bcd the following wk but the seller was not there.
I really like it when people put a thank you card in with purchases.
Have got free film and the like with purchases and one gave me a couple of lenses with a camera I collected.
Never got a house trained Orangutan though I am quite disappointed now, I think next time I sell some thing I will include an Apple Tree or a Yak

I once bought a lens on ebay and it had one of those little evangelical cartoon booklets that try to help you see the light in the box. It was an slr lens. I haven't made that mistake again.

Tracts. I remember the one called "This was your life". I read it in 5th grade and it turned me off going to church.

I am the type who give stuff, like using photo magazines folded over as packing material, etc.

I dont know how many times I have bought russian cameras for the lens, a much better deal than buying the lens separately. so now I have a collection of Fed 2s or Fed 5s for FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and sometimes they throw in a free filter or lens cap too!!!!!!!!!!!! You can't beat the deals on the cheap russian gear.............. Kievman
