I think the odd apperance of the bokeh had to do with the changing geometry of the brick in the background more than it's typical performance. I totally agree about the elmar-c. I was shocked when I compared them all.

Thanks for putting together this comparison. I just got the Elmar-c a week ago, and haven't had time to actually develop any of the images for myself. But the more I read these forums, and the more I smuggle with it in bed, the more confident do I feel with buying the lens. Besides, I got a great deal: $100 for it.
