Many years ago, I was viewing the Leica User's Group (LUG) forum and I read a tip that I have followed ever since. The tip was to coat your camera's vinyl exterior covering w/ glycerine (available at a pharmacy) and let it sit for about a day then wipe it off at least once a year. That will prolong the covering's life. I've got 17 camera bodies and I've done that for about 15 years (dating back to 1958) and the vinyl still looks brand new. It's a good wintertime activity, so I'm passing it on to you all.

Good luck shooting,
Bill
