Bessa Porn?

How is the build quality and feel of the Rollie compared to the Bessa R or R3a?

Can't say, myself, as I've never tried (or even held) the Bessa R or R3a. I think Huck Finn has commented on this. I'm not sure if there is a build quality difference beyond the finish and the framelines for the 40mm Sonar.

Without being able to compare... The Rollei is very solid and seems well built with a good feel. The finish seems to be holding up well and all controls/dials are smooth and solid without being stiff. The only complaint I would have, is the film rewind lever seems sorta cheap. Less than stellar. Not flimsy, but it seems like it should be more snug.

Very nice gear you guys. The various black cameras really are pretty. My R & R2 are chrome. I almost picked up a gray R2 but my friend beat me to it.

Bob

ps....it's great to read a thread about photgraphy, especially where no one is offended.

THANKS!
My gear changes with my mood. I usually shoot with K100d, K1000 or my Epic Stylus and a Bessa R3a which I just sold. My plan was to sell all my 35mm stuff and get a Leica. Plan didn't work out too well and am thinking about getting another Bessa or something like that. Any ideas in that $700 price range?

pc, i'm about to send off my r3m to gandy for a little tlc.

if it was 3-4weeks later, or so - and i had gotten it back - i'd be all over you... if you don't mind waiting a little, feel free to mail or pm me, but unfortuneatly the pics in this thread is relevant

How offensive! How anti-chaste to my sensibilities! At least put a leaf on it  Everybody conform to my view of the world now! :p

All but my L wear pants - not Luigi's, but the bottom of the $1 brown CV case. We must keep the indecent overexposure in control!

Lets keep the thread alive! Bessa's can be pretty too, in a.....special way I guess :)

My Voigtlander Bessa R2A, Cosina/Epson R-D1 2004 35mm 2.5 lens (Skopar Pancake II), and VC Meter II 2

Avotiuos, How come you have a VCII on your R2a?

I took this photo for my commercial photography class, the top part of the photo seemed a little bare and I had just go the meter today so what the heck. The extra space on the left is for words and what not we have to add in later.

Avotius: I love your China street photos on flickr! I came across them last week when I was looking for photo samples taken with the Pancake II. Now I really want one!
