High tea at The Peninsula Hong Kong - the Rolls Royce of cafe bars.
High Tea at The Peninsula 2012 by Life in Shadows

Man, what a memory, Peter, thank you; I was there about 30 years ago. As you say, "the Rolls Royce of cafe bars". Great shot!

Mike

Thanks Mike. I just like saying "The Peninsula" :) It is redolent of old Britain, the Empire, colonies, top hats, pith helmets and swagger sticks. Meanwhile I will continue trying to mortgage my home so next time I get to Hong Kong (if I get there) I might be able to spend a token 1 night at The Peninsula.

Well in the mean time at least I can afford high tea there (occasionally).

BTW the only place even remotely like it is Raffles in Singapore. The long bar at Raffles is a little like stepping back in time to a colonial era though of the two I think The Peninsula's high tea is much more authentic and surprisingly, better priced.

I would say that Singapore is another story, equally interesting but as you say not equally the same. Peter, you're an interesting man, thank you for the walk down memory lane.
