I also service Electro 35's, and have found that G's and GS's almost always have bad PODs. GSN's and GTN's go about 50/50...

Fungus will probably wreck the coating on the lens even if you could get to it with no tools. I would look for a nicer one with a new POD.... they are not hard to find.
