Hi, I'm not a member yet, but I thought I'd give this a try.
I have a Contax G1, I've used it on and off for the last four years. I use it primarily when backpacking (which I do a lot of). The problem is that is seems to have stopped focusing. The pictures are all soft and when trying to focus it makes a grinding noise (with all lenses). If you use the 'manual' focus, it sounds like normal. This is odd, because at first it only happened with the 45mm and now it does it with the 28mm too.
What I'm wondering is if anyone else has had this same problem? What if anything did you do about it?
I've contacted Contax and will be sending it in for repair, but they haven't responed to my emails.
