Exposition C'EST LA VIE at Landesmuseum, Zurich

Was yesterday at a guided tour through the exhibition. Photographing wasn't allowed; have a look at the web address mentioned above for visual information.
The main theme is about press and glamour photography in Switzerland since 1940 (reporter photography). At the opposite hall there were additional prints of the years 1940-1950 showing more portrait and art styles. This led to a good discussions during the tour on press photography vs portrait shots vs actual art trends vs personal snap shots.
What I clearly saw:
- the transition from b/w to color 1980-1990
- the big difference between press (information) images and art shots
- the different usage of images in newspapers through the decades (BW, color, number and size of images on front page)
- the different images used for daily news vs magazines
- the fall of the press photographer job, because of digital/internet revolution on news photography

Recommendable exhibition, if you are in Zurich the next months.
