Fujinon LTM Fuji Photo Film 50mm f/2.8?

Fuji Photo Film M39 screw mount lenses
This Fujinon is a Xenotar type lens (4/5 configuration) - good image quality on the 2.8 variant. I'd avoid the f2 variant which is not only pricier, larger and heavier but gets you little extra for the money, and fares worse stop-for-stop, while imo not being "fast enough" to make this a worthwhile trade-off.

Anyway back to the f2.8 which is not a very ambitious aperture even for the 50ies, but also there are no complaints image quality wise. Very sharp in the center at wide open and usable corners. And just about sharp enough even for landscape from f4 already. (on film) Also no noticeable distortion as far as I could see in my quick shooting tests. The bokeh can be on the nervous side and the focal point is quite clearly delineated. The rendition is fairly modern, meaning neutral - it does not really add or remove anything from the image.

I have one.
It's well built, quite solid.
Barrel rotates when focusing, so you go looking for the aperture.
Image is sharp, more modern look than some of its contemporaries .
40.5mm filter
Nice and something different, the fact it doesn't get used much says something, but I haven't sold it either .
Not tried it with colour film or digital
