Bumped to YT video where extra fw is installed on Canon P&S to get RAW and more.

Code page is slightly chaotic.
The idea is to format card in camera. Copy main code and camera specific drives to this card and configure it in camera.
They have option to make it bootable every time camera starts.
It ads extra menus, but original fw is also functional.
I installed it on Canon A1400. Small CCD sensor, camera is from 2013.
It gives me DNG files, which are easy to work in LR.

Those are very nice. My Canon S90 shoots RAW but I never took advantage of it. I will try and shoot some and check out the results.

Dear raydm6,
I've never shot a camera capable of shooting RAW, NEF, ORF or whatever the brand calls their uncompressed files in any way other than RAW plus jpeg.
It's rare the number of times I wasn't able to PP a better result than the camera did by itself.
Some people don't like PP and I understand that 100%. I like to mess around with the files myself.
