We can discount that it is an L2 because the L2 has a "Wing rewind" and 500 top shutter speed and no self timer.
We can discount that it is an L1 because the L1 does not have a self timer.
We can discount the VL2 as it also had a wing rewind and top speed of 500.
The picture in Peter Decherts book on pg 147 depicts a VTD not a VL.
At first I thought this maybe one of the "22" VLs Peter D mentions in his book but on closer inspection the shutter curtain is a cloth curtain.
Oh well.
