Interview with Trent Parke on his new project: Black Rose Diaries

I like Trent, no interest in whether he's influenced or copied anything.
His partner Narelle Autio is also a Leica M shooter and has some amazing Aussie images in her portfolio.

The link in post #1 just goes to a gambling/casino magazine. Can't find the interview.

Deep breaths. Next week it will be 7 years since SWB, whoever s/he/they are or were, logged in to Rangefinder Forum. This thread started in 2014 - one of the problems with resurrecting zombie threads is that old, forgotten arguments are revived like the pathogen infecting corpses to become the living dead.

It's gone. Please consider letting it go.

My bad here. When I come across video of a particular photographer, I generally find an older thread to attach it too as I simply don't want to start new threads on that photographer (i hate to say).

Trent Parke is Australian and would likely shrug his shoulders at one stupid contribution to this thread. Aware of some antecedents? Presumably. A copycat? Ridiculous.

I think continuing old threads is useful, and provides a continuity that we can only have places like this. No problem. What we need to avoid is pointlessly digging up old enmities.

Perhaps you could recommend a photographer (or any other artist) that has not been influenced by another? And like Moriyama himself it isn't necessary for an artist to reference their influences every time they open their mouths or show a piece of work.
This person has not been on RFF for 7 years. Let's hope they have notifications turned off.
The post is more a reflection on the person that made it, and has no validity in real life.

I like “Minutes to Midnight” but I m not familiar with recent Trent’s work.
This thread makes me curious about it and I will look for it.
Sometimes it is good and useful to give new life to some old thread :) thanks
PS of course we are all mature enough to ignore what is not relevant…
PS #2: I remember I watched the documentary and saw the film stripes hanging from the branches of a tree in a camping and I thought “ OMG I m so afraid of dust when I hang my films to dry in the shower…”

Personally I think it's better to start a new thread. I get confused when year's old discussions get revived just to post something new on the same or similar subject.
