Does anyone know where to find it? Unlike the C35's Tessar-style design, the 1973 S3 had a different and interesting 6 element, 4 group lens. It does not appear that Konica used that configuration in that focal length range in any other subsequent camera or in any of its AR SLR lenses. Just was wondering what the precise design was. Thanks!

The 38mm f1.8 lens used in the Auto S3 in 1973, came from the 1966 Auto SE.

Whoa. I didn't even know there was a Konica SE. Thanks for the info!

Yeah, it's probably some kind of symmetrical 1-2-2-1.

I can't imagine anything different considering the layout goes back to the mid-60's. Proper selection of glass and lens curves to determine the final formula may have given the lens the edge over others. but I suspect it's a symmetrical double Gauss design.
