I have a Lomo LC-A that has a strange shutter problem. Sometimes when pointing the shutter towards a bright scene the shutter clicks but does not open. Is that a sticky shutter? Otherwise the shutter works as expected.

Bright as in what? And what ISO setting?

Mine has the same problem, and it grossly underexposed the scene.

Assuming that you have fresh batteries installed with clean contacts, it may be the shutter. I have several LC-A's and the models that have faulty "sticky" shutters have needed cleaning which usually fixes it.

Cleaning the battery contacts had fixed the problem. Didn't notice that there was some green stuff on the contacts. I had two out of 36 frames underexposed though, but that's o.k. for it.
