Last week I asked about my sticky Voightlander 40mm lens and how to lube it. Someone suggested plumber's lube, but I haven't been able to find this. Can't I just use white or black lithium grease? Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

This is linked from Kiev Survival Site. Russ says this is the grease he uses in all his lenses.

I relubed my 2 Zuiko lenses with this and also many other FSU lenses and they're fine.

i used similar lithium grease for my old leitz summar. in my case it was Cepsa (Spain) made lithium grease. can't said nothing bad about it. it works

Kestas, could you explain how to dismantle a summar?
Mine is desperately in need of a cleaning...

about the grease, I tried different things, Lithium does the job!

I seriously f***** my Voigtlander Lens!

I seriously f***** my Voigtlander Lens!

All I did was remove the rear focusing mount to re-lube it and I couldn't get it back in no matter how hard I tried. Although I am a handy guy, and careful, it appears I screwed (so to speak) something up. Sherry Krauter of Golden Touch is now attempting to fix this disaster, but she can't get it back either. I may have cross-threaded it somehow, though I really was quite careful.

 There goes the whole DIY concept, and my lens...
