Leica M8 and Summarit-M 35/2.5

This is my second trip though this thread. The M8 has to be one of the best digital Leicas ever made based on image quality. Progress is not always relative to quality. Who would have ever thought that the M8 with all it's foibles and limitations (by today's standards) is worthy of being a collector camera? I own an M10 and I am still VERY impressed with the M8 in black white and color.

I'll NEVER sell my M9 Monochrom!

I agree 100% with you, M8 is great camera in B&W and color.

When light is good, it can produce warm and rich
almost Kodachrome colors, like here:

I can't replicate these colors with my other digital cameras, even with my beloved Canon 5D.

This is a mixed bag of a few older shots from a few years ago taken with an M8 and various lenses (though often with a Ver 3 Summicron 50mm or a ver 4 Summicron 35mm). I have to admit the combo. pretty effortly produces some quite highly saturated images.

Leica User - It was this shot early in my M8 experience that demonstrated my error in rejecting the use of the UV/IR Cut filter! False colors in the fabric, and also note the unfortunate effect on the green foliage in the other two photos...
