Hello, I just purchased an M9 and was wondering how much I should expect to pay for the camera to be re-wrapped in leather and to replace a strap lug without sending it to NJ, I am located in LA and Steve's Camera Service is nearby with good reviews so I thought I would try them.
Also is it possible to purchase replacement new top and bottom plates without the M9-P upgrade? I really like the anthracite ones on the M-E.

Replacement tops cost around $950. Not sure of the bottom plate. As far as I know, you can only get them through Leitz. You would have to send the camera to them.
