Using an inexpensive, non-coupled adapter. ~$80.

Hot-Mirror filter on the 24/2.8, cost ~$10 used.

Framing using the full view of the finder. The adapter brings up the 50 lines. I quit using the preview, just used the entire finder. Worked well.

Wide-open at F2.8:

Stopped down to F5.6:

Closer in, also F2.8.

Cripes.

I had heard of such an adapter (maybe on Gandy's site?) but I had never seriously thought of a good reason to get one.

Thinking again...

1) Question on the AF-Nikkors, answered. No provision is made for lenses without aperture rings. My AF-Nikkors will all work.

2)- I'll get a picture up. The AIS 24/2.8 is the same size as the modern 50/1.4.
