Nikon 100 year anniversary goodies.

Nikon 100 year anniversary goodies.

Nikon introduced a new website for the 100 year anniversary:
http://www.nikon.com/100th/

And not to be far behind, they also introduced a bunch of goodies to celebrate the century mark.

Nikon 100th Anniversary
Miniature Nikon F Camera
The Nikon F.
It is the genesis of Nikon’s flagship models, and has set the standard for SLRs in the world.
It achieved unprecedented performance and reliability by concentrating Nikon’s optical and precision technologies into a single point, including proprietary standards such as the Nikon F mount in use even today.
The Nikon F, which continues to be endeared by many camera enthusiasts, has been faithfully recreated in 1/2 scale.

And to top it off, what better way to celebrate the anniversary than showing some prototypes in one's own museum?

Thanks Kiu,
I just bought the 100 Anniversary book from the US distributor.

I don't know about the 1/2 scale F. Might be cheaper and more useful to buy a real Nikon F.

How about a modern Nikon meter stuffed into a Photomic FTN housing. I would probably pay a crazy price for one.

I don't need a miniature F, I have ten of the full size ones. Joe

Was hoping for a 100th Anniversary Df2, but that does not seem to be in the offing.

Bummer.

Had to laugh. After a number of years of lusting, I was finally able to afford a Nikon Df. When it arrived yesterday afternoon, on the outside of the box, it had one of the Nikon 100th Anniversary stickers. So I guess it's an 100th Anniversary Df and I sort-of got my wish.

This is only the box, buy a $350 3400 (body), they put on the sticker too...

Well, at least you're using the same camera w one of Japan's best photographer;
Sasaoka Keiko 笹岡啓子

You completely missed my reference. Many months ago I wished for Nikon to come out with a 100th Anniversary Nikon Df camera (I figured it would be the Df2). That never happened. But when I got my Nikon Df camera delivered yesterday, it had a 100th Anniversary sticker on it, so it was almost like the camera I wished for.

I agree, for $150 you can purchase a real F, and for a few more dollars a couple of inexpensive Nikkors such as the 50mm f2, 28mm f3.5 and or a 135mm f3.5.

I like miniatures, so I ordered the half-scale F, and the next day Nikon cancelled the order.

Not going to bother spending anything else on their anniversary stuff. Most of it looks ridiculous anyway, especially those t-shirts.
