Hi guys
This photo was taken last night at the Sydney Harbour. The lens is very sharp wide open and it works well on the M8
It's got some funny shaped bokeh when it's shot wide open. Some of them are circular and others on the side are like a lemon.
Is this what you are getting as well? Mind posting your photos with highlight bokeh??

As far as I know, all lenses make "lemon shaped" bokeh highlights. It has something to do with the angle at which it's entering the lens.

"cat's eye" bokeh due to optical vignetting. It's normal at wide apertures, there's nothing wrong with the lens.

from what I've seen, Nokton is much sharper on it's widest setting.
Noctulux looks like a "pinhole" in comparision
