Would you believe the price this Exa brought?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ihagee-Exa-Meritar-1-2-9F-50mm-VINTAGE-CAMERA-great-condition-/251879811182?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2047675.l2557&nma=true&si=JSycgOvMPwA%252B8bpBv5hZ4ihxIiY%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

Sharp eyed readers will note that this is an extremely rare variation from the earliest production run - but still a big price tag for such a simple camera.

That version is a rare camera. Exakta and or Exa collecting has not taken off like Leica collectors, but there are a few dedicated collectors out there.

I've noticed on one action site I visit (no, not eBay) that Exacta/Exa stuff is very popular, going beyond my budgetary means.

Exa is very collectible in some circles,

I know of two local gents who just eat the stuff up, spitting back out a mjaority of it as rubbish.

Never ran into anything close personally, Ide prolly pass on the smelly old buckets anyhow.

That old saying comes to mind,

"It is only worth what somone is willing to pay.." or the like.
