Hong Kong Photos from 10th meeting RFF HK Club : Central

Yes, Max's first two entries above have photos of Max (with goatee) and Pan, as well as Louis and me. Later, Louis' entry has a photo of Dingo (also goatee'd) with all our gear. I think we have a near group shot in one of the slides in processing, too. Adrian

And a shot of our female member who was wearing only a bra on top... :p

Purchase of the Day!

Purchase of the Day!

Well, this is my purchase of the day at the photo flea market which came with polaroid back. Paid HK$3000. Took it to Thailand on a biz trip last week and shot about six rolls. Here we go - camera on the beach!
Unfortunately, my unfamiliarity with the loading mechanism meant I loaded the first two rolls back to front! Doh:bang:

Anyway, hope to post some nice beach shots...

Wow, great shot! Where do you get such nice scans? I haven't found a single place I'm satisfied with.

I got them scanned by a good friend, who runs a photo-finishing shop. He scanned my slides with the real professional machine, in a stunning resolution : some 6300 X 4100 for one 24X36 slide !

The appetiser.

Really good shots Dingo, we need to see more now!!!!!!

Relax, the main dishes will come very soon. But first I want to ask, especially to Louis, since we were shooting the same film (Velvia 50) that day, and the slides are scanned without any adjustment, it turns out too blueish to me, is it the character of this film ?

the cool colour temperature is most noticible with shots without sun light. i am not sure if it is the character of the particular film used. in fact i find all slides shot recently carry the same cold tones. for motion pictures one would apply a 85B filter to warm up the look...perhaps someone here can enlighten us.

hey dingo, i told you so , didn't i?

Yes, you've shown me the slides before. But do we have to accept this character of Velvia and, more importantly as you mentioned, this blue tone result varies in different light condition, that we have to accept the color temperature is not within our control at the end of the day?

BTW, here comes one of the main dishes, which all have a feel of surrealism :

nice shots, guys.

the difference of shots taken by different photographers looks obvious. this could be due to lens character, film stock and of course settings, maybe this should be discussed more in detail.

here are a few more shots from the day...

but still can't figure out the thumbnail syndrome.

Finally picked up the photos...

Finally picked up the photos...

Okay, here are my favorite shots from the "Dingo challenge". Frankly, I'm happy that my FE2 was working properly after 3 years in mothballs! I'll start with some team shots...
