Hi,

I am considering having some 120 negative film (from portra and cross processed Ektachrome) print on glossy paper at 4x5" or so and the scan the prints just to see how it turns out on the monitor. The idea behid this is that negative is not the final image and require post production while the print is a finished product. I may as well delegate the lab operator to enlarge according to my and her vision and then I can scan the print to share on web.

Is that a lot unusual work flow?

Thanks

my regular B&W workflow is to scan prints not negatives. I can make a print much more quickly than I can scan. But I believe I am an anomaly.

I scan my 8x10 prints on home office grade printer/copier/fax/scanner from Canon. I rarely have to do any adjustments to the image other than crop the borders and downsize it for web.
