I dont know if this is the right place for this but. I need some Series V filters for my Argus TLR. I know the Argoflex takes these but do any of the Argus rangefinders use this size filter? They are drop in filters not screw on. I have a light yellow, red, outdoor kodachrome filter. I am looking for a kodachrome haze, a green and a dark and or medium yellow. Im not sure what all arguses they fit. Also looking for 30mm argus portrait diopter lenses. +1 +2 and +3 pairs. Thanks

Gary

If you are talking the older Cintar 50mm lens, get the Kodak Series V Adapter #18. Screws right into the front of the lens. The later Cintar 50 lens, such as what came on the Matchmatic and Colormatic (with the newer style barrel) have Series V holders built in.

What I currently have is the Argoflex camera. It has a 75mm varex lens and I have a series V push on adapter installed. I need a few 30mm Series V drop in filters for it. Im hoping to find out what else besides the Argoflex takes the series V 30mm filters so I can try to track some down the ones I dont have.

So, are you looking for Argus brand filters, or any brand Series V? Pretty much all lenses can take a series filter with the right adapter. I've got some Argus Series VI filters, and believe me, they will never go on any of my cameras, as they are junk. Oh, and the Argus Sandmar 35mm and 100mm lenses also had the built-in Series V holder.

yes Argus brand only, 30mm series V. Green one and dark medium yellow Do you know if any argus cameras besides the argoflex took the series V filters? I see you mentioned sandmar and 100mm lenses, what cameras did these go on?

I didnt know they were junk, did you have a bad experience? Im just getting into it now so i have nothing to compare it to.

Thanks
Gary

Gary, the Argus filters I have were either stored incorrectly, or were just poor quality to start with, as they are falling apart, and fading.

The Sandmar lenses (35mm wide angle, and 100mm telephoto) were made for Argus in W.Germany. There is also a Soligor 135mm, but I'm not sure what filter size it takes. They were all used on the C line of cameras, but most notably on the C-3, otherwise known as "The Brick". Use of an auxillary viewfinder was helpful to frame your photo.
