I do not know much so this will not take long. I figure content, composition, color, and interest are also important. Focus is most important when making engravings. Otherwise it is a variable. This, along with the other four, for me, must be accounted for but their importance is not always the same. If it were we could use a plug-in and all get great photos. But we cannot. And for this reason an out of focus photo can have impact. I have seen a lot of very much in focus photos that are in focus, period. You can count the gnat's eyelashes. So?

And here is my not so noble attempt with out of focus. The eggplant and tofu were delicious. First feed the eye.
