In Aperture priority mode, the shutter speed is displayed in the viewer, but not in manual mode.

Why? In AE you never know beforehand what the camera is going to set, so a display is necessary, but in manual you have set the speed yourself. My wife is always telling me I have no memory, but this I manage to remember..

Too bad the Shutter speed isn't always available. Odd for an electronic camera. D2 has it in manual mode.

Actually, it seems the viewfinder would not accomodate a led-screen that is large enough to show both the light-balance and the shutterspeed. I think this is the right decision, as it reduces VF clutter.

This is no different from the M7.
