Small red dots blinking in the viewfinder

Hello,
I formatted the SD card in "overwrite" mode. Another lesson on do-not!
Once the process was finished, a blinking red comma appeared in the bottom part of the viewfinder and another at the top. I could not find these dots in the user's manual or on Google, so I turned the camera off and changed the battery. There are no more blinking red dots!
They probably mean something, and I'd like to know what.
Anybody?

I had this once. Brian Sonnar who writes code will tell us. The M9 firmware development stopped quite a long way before total stability. But it works, ten years later.

Today, I learned six things:
  1. The little red lights blink to remind you of having exposure compensation on.
  2. I do not have enough dexterity to get correctly focused pictures with the 35mm f/1.4 or the 50mm f/1.5, as the DoF is so thin.
  3. With my shaky hands, the slowest speed I can handle is 1/125 sec. A monopod to the rescue!
  4. Leica-M mount lenses can be 6-bit coded using flanges, which you can buy on eBay for 20 dollars. I think I'll pass.
  5. The ISO knob on M10-R is idiotic, as is the on-off switch. They left out the USB port. The WLAN works with the iPhone!
  6. Time is cruel to men and their machines.
