Speedlite for Canon P suggestions?

I don't know through experience, but a Sync-cord A on a 133D or 102 Speedlite will work as the cable turns the 'hot shoe' base pin off - as long as the sync cord matches the left-side sync. Somewhere I also have one of the Canon adapters that attaches a (cold) Speedlite flash shoe on to the sync mount and prevents impeding the sync port on the body. I hope this makes sense, otherwise lots of searching and photographing this stuff could take a while. Even a 155A or 299T could do the same as the Sync-cord A works with them and the A or T series flashes have their own sensors.

If you're up for a hammerhead flash then look at a Metz 45 CL-4 with PC sync cable.

You get 360deg swivel, 90deg bounce (with separate fill flash), flash autoexposure, fast cycling, decent power - and it makes a pretty effective melee weapon should your model object to your directing style.

They're also dirt cheap, which leaves you extra pennies for post-shoot beers.
