W-Nikkor C 3.5cm f/1.8 Photos!

Here are a few I shot on my 2005 Nikon SP with the 35mm f1.8 while around Naples, Italy. Shot on Kodak color plus. Sadly I fitted an after-market lens hood and it is visible in the corners.

even wide open and with an old Toshiba filter attached mine works great contre jour.

A few shots from Kyoto using the W-Nikkor 35/1.8 on my S2.

This guy was milling around by his taxi having a smoke and I nodded as I walked passed and he nodded, and then, noticing the Domke hanging from my shoulder he said, hey, you have a camera bag? I said yeah, and opened the flap to show him my S2 with 35/1.8 attached. His eyes lit up and he said, I have an SP! We had a nice chat and then he let me take his photo :)

Very nice images. I get the impression it has quite a bit more contrast than the Leica pre-asph 35mm Summilux f1.4
Thank you sir. My negs are nice and contrasty. That being said, these images are DSLR scans (quite flat files) that I invert in NLP, and make small adjustments to. Would be interesting to shoot the 'lux and the W-Nikkor under the same conditions and see how they compare.

That would be a very interesting comparison.

Maybe I should use my 35/1.8 ltm more often.
So many lenses, so little time. I have one lens in LTM and the original S-mount, as well as the 2005 re-issue version. I prefer the originals. The reissue is a very good lens, but I have a strong preference for the retro-rendering of 1950s and 1960s lenses.

Do the two lenses have a similar market value?
35/1.4M Lux
Nikon 35/1.8 ltm

I love using both lenses.
Raid, my S-mount 35/1.8 is a cosmetically rough copy with clean glass I picked up in Japan a few years ago for about ¥65,000. With the range in price based on condition, and large fluctuations in yen value, the market value of these lenses varies significantly.

I try to explore one or two lenses during each vacation during the summer. The Lux is more practical to use, but the W-Nikkor may be more interesting. This is the fun of choosing and then using.

The ebay asking prices for the LTM version of this lens are crazy. $5000+.
