With a good lens, this picture is nice but a bit boring:

Sony A900 | Minolta 50/1.4 | f/8 | 1/400s | 160iso

But with the so-so lens in my phone it becomes a great picture:

Sony Xperia Arc | 4.1mm | f/2.4 | 1/800s | 80iso

Worse sometimes is better!

yes, thanks guys, some real beauties Lynn and Nokton, and Addy, I know that it's a term not everybody fancies, but their individual character, color rendering including being prone to flare is not the only but a main reason why I love old lenses.
This bridge is one of the main, if not 'the' main landmark of Hanoi photographed hundreds, thousands times every day, thousands of pics on the net. This one because of flare, also colors, looks different
