One of my GT's self-timer is "hung-up" halfway through the operation. Everything is opened up and I am looking at the selftimer gears and actuating arm. The arm is stuck about 1/2 way.

The shutter arms and the mechanism actuates when the release is pressed but the selftimer doesn't move. The selftimer gears can be moved freely but the
?escapement? maybe isn't working?

Any easy way to get the mechanism moving?

If not, do I pull out the entire selftimer and have a look?

Thanks for any advice.

Tried that, the lever won't budge toward the normal unarmed position.

I was able to get the shutter firing again by unscrewing the selftimer screws and gently moving the entire assembly around. The selftimer is still frozen and loose in the shutter housing.

Looking for a shutter exploded diagram to see how the selftimer works but no luck.

Any hints on where I might find something on the shutter details?

Thanks.

Who needs a self timer anyhow? One mangled self-timer removed. These old guys must not be indestructable. :)
