Suburban delights

My condolences for the demise of your roof. In December last year, a winter storm -it was referred to as a 'bomb cyclone', ripped part of our roof off. Luckily we had it repaired before thaw set in. Cheers, OtL

We were lucky. See that open area in the center of the photo? It used to have several large beautiful trees filling the sky. Now gone. Luckily no injuries to any humans in the area but trees down on houses everywhere. And no electricity for over 4 days during 100+ degree Fahrenheit weather. That did cause injuries and a few deaths due to heat strokes.

We are now the proud owners of a whole house backup generator.

Bad news. I know the drill. In April of this year, temperatures in Saigon went up way above the yearly average and the AC in my bedroom disintegrated. Luckily, a much older unit in the living room kept on chugging. The repair man confirmed that the older units are better built than the newer ones. So much for innovation. :cautious:
