Leica M Monochrom: best pics

The 50mm is just but right for me. As of today, I could not think of other focal lengths (don't want to be tempted too :D), the thought of a single focal length still interests me, and pushes me in a way, good or bad I don't know yet. :D

Interestingly enough, I have noticed the intimacy of the photos with an RF, I could not probably have done it better with a full-frame DSLR in a way of its intimidating presence.

I process them on LR, probably just inherited the same approach / technique (?) from processing of the Nikon D800E .nef files -- push and pulling the highlight, shadows, whites and blacks - and with the tone curve to taste.

@Dave, Dirk, seanbonner
Thanks for sharing those photos. Interesting and some with nice expression. Pls keep them coming!

Sean, Klaus and Allen, thanks for sharing - they made my day brighter...

Thanks Dave,

I always tune in to see what you are porting. Like other I think your processing really fit your work so well.

Good work everyone.

Allen, I think the unobstrusiveness of the RF made this shot intimate, subjects look very at ease with their conversation. Well done.

I like the swings btw...

Thanks Dave. I think the last photo I posted really show how well the MM behaves at high ISO. I think it looks good without much noise for 6400 ISO.

Cam, wow -1EV! That is, ISO 5000, f/1.0 at 1/180 sec, which speaks clearer to me than the EV number. Fantastic results, particularly considering how little light that is. And, for a change, I even like the Noctilux rendtion of points of light in the bokeh. Congratulations!

thank you, Mitch! i told you there really was *no* light that night. the wallpaper, however, was reflective and messed with the metering (boyfriends OM-D was even having a harder time) so i had to pull it down -1 or risk getting to many blown highlights... and thank you for the comment on the Noctilux, lol. i was standing right there (the image isn't cropped) and was lucky enough to have the important bits in the plane of focus. whilst fun for über bokeh, i really use the f/1 as a tool to shoot in low/no light.

of course with the Monochrom, i could just as easily have used the pre-asph 50mm Summilux (which i know you have) and gotten excellent results. i absolutely do not think i could have shot that evening without the Monochrom, though!

Nice set Dave (again) you are rock'n that MM.
Klaus nice set from you as well and Michael I really like the light thats dancing in this one.
