Time to bring this thread back to life. My Bessa 250 Jahre R2M gets the boudoir treatment, in bed with a Canon 35/2.8 LTM.

I've always wanted to try a Bessa,

First it was a L or maybe a T then possibly a R2 but I've never been able to handle one in person.

I have Voigtlander as a saved search on eBay and of course a nice R2m popped up yesterday. Having worked a fair amount of overtime last week I decided to jump. Now To finish selling the few Leica odds I have left. R2m and Summar will be my only RF gear.

For 399$ USD posted to my door, I think the price and timing is right. So let's see some more of those bessa cameras!

2 years (ish) my daily camera - and I've got some "brassing" to show for it.

I'd definitely say go for the R2M/A over the R2 if you can; the RF decouples at 0,9m which is kind of an annoyance.

Would love to pick up an R2S to use with my old Nikkor rangefinder lenses. They're pretty tough to come by it seems. I rarely see them for sale. Guess there weren't a lot of them made.

Best,
-Tim

Nukecoke how do you like the 50/2.2 Canon? Its a lens I will eventually buy and inevitably resell.

Hi, it's sharper than any FSU 50mm I have (meaning Jupiter-3/8 Industar-22/26/50/61) when wide open. I do not have any non-FSU 50s to compare with. I know it's a 5 elements in 4 groups design from 1961. It's an odd duck since at that time symmetrical double-Gauss lenses were the standard (namely the Canon 50/1.8), with 4 elements Tessar type as lower tier lenses.

The lens is very compact, even shorter than a Jupiter-8. The weight is still there so it does not feel cheap.

This lens came with haze on the inside side of the first element, which can be easily removed from the front opening of the lens and cleaned.
