I saw some of this film both 400 and 800 at CVS today and was wondering if it is any good??

Any samples???

Don't have samples ready to hand, but the ASA 400 version gives results of reasonable quality. The faster one is not sold in my country.

Pretty sure this 400UC is the 120 version.

It was very hazy but I thought the film did a good job. So did my old Rolleicord Va.

I don't think 400UC had anything to do with Ultramax. I have tried the 800 Ultra and it was truly horrible.

I've used some UltraMax in the past and if memory serves me right the slower versions were OK but the 800 was bad.

The original poster asked about image samples, so reviving this old thread instead of starting a new one to share some images. This roll expired in 2019, photo taken 2022, developing and scanning done recently in 2024. I've heard "consumer" film is designed for this kind of timeline. 😂

RETO Ultra Wide & Slim, Kodak Ultra Max 400 (expired 2019).

It's my go-to color film. I like everything about it but color and cost are the best for me. I've never seen the 800 speed but have pushed the 400 to 800 and 1600 and liked the results.
