Leicas - Which are fixable? M's R's Digital

Gerry at Kindermann is retired now. I don't think there's anyone in Canada I would send an M to anymore.
Gary Clennan (lensmedicyyc). He's within an hour's drive in Calgary and did a terrific job replacing the broken viewfinder window on a Leica CL & making the dent in the top plate disappear. It is back to working like a charm. Don Goldberg did a CLA and Leicavit conversion on my M4. Barring any accidents it should be good for another 50 years. Last year he replaced a dead cell on a Leica CL 50th anniversary. He still has parts.

I can't think of a single Leica M film camera (except the M7) that can't still be repaired/CLA'd - even the M5 and CL, but IIRC Leica wont touch anything older than an M4-2.
There are now no replacement circuit boards available for the original M6 classic or TTL. In this case, if your meter dies, your M6 will become a glorified M4-P.
Leicaflex cameras can still be CLA'd - but AFAIK, Leica won't touch them.
AFAIK - Digital Ms can be repaired back to the M240 series, but only thru Leica.
Any Leica R film camera? - Forget about it!

My attitude is that I will use my M 240 until something happens to it and by then I'll have a Z5 & an M->Z adapter for my lenses. The 240 will make a nice paperweight for my son.
