Kent--beautiful F-1!
Looks unused. And I think you'll find the 50/1.8 lens to be a pretty good one..

Paul- I was really pleased with the 50/1.8, you're so right. The camera had pretty "low mileage" when I bought it, very nice shape. It's one awesome brick of a camera.

Never heard of this camera. What's the story?

A long one, apparently. As far as I can tell, it was designed by a Japanese company, then manufactured by Fuji for a while. After that, it was sold under many different names, about seven all total, and manufactured in Hong Kong. It hasn't been made for a long time, but Ultrafineonline has a bunch of NOS ones called the Great Wall PF-1. It's about the size of a Konica C35 EF, but with a pentaprism. It uses two AA batteries to power the flash, and metering system. One shutter speed (1/60), so it's better with the slow films. The metering system consists of a CdS cell, with Over-Under lights in the viewfinder, a momentary button switch above the shutter lock, and ISO selections of 64, 100, and 400. The mirror is the shutter, so the aperture consists of one large blade that comes up from the bottom of the lens, to offset the extra exposure you would get from the mirror/shutter. There is a lock on the aperture ring called the FM switch, and when you engage it, you now have a GN lens, as it interlocks the aperture ring with the focus ring. It all seems to work good, as you can see from these photos http://flic.kr/s/aHsjD41P1J And if you want to know what the inside looks like http://flic.kr/s/aHsjCUYH28 And two other cameras like this http://camera-wiki.org/wiki/Fujica_ST-F http://camera-wiki.org/wiki/Great_Wall_PF-1

This is a very bad thread for me... I am getting a lot of camera cravings now...

Gotta post some of mine too, later.

My latest Charity Shop Rescue Case:

Canon EOS 300D by F4ronnie, on Flickr

Works fine once I got a new battery and charger except it has the "sub mirror broken pin" syndrome, so it's manual focus only for the moment. AF does work but you get 2/3 black images.

Decorators tape is great! You can waterproof top plates, secure lens hoods and straps and even stick bits back on that fall off! Wish I could find it in black!

My early F2 with early type leather and slot screws. I can't use it anymore as I can't focus it. It was the same with my F's and F3's. Must be to do with the VF magnification.

Is that what it is, wow, I just couldn't get it to work. The screen on the back is also broken, no bother, Nikon will still have the parts in stock ;)

Best focusing m/f camera ever? I think so. With my favorite lens the 60mm macro.

Absolutely stunning lens...and the camera is not bad either! I think I posted a pic of my black SL MOT ages ago, thinking of selling it but not quite made up my mind.
