RS Elmar 5cm. XP2.
 
Here a test of my Elmar LTM 50mm at f/4 (1954). I used the method of Jim Kasson.

The result was somewhat disappointing.
The Canon dreamlens (1961) is better at f/4.0
 
A few from a 1934 Elmar 5cm f3.5, uncoated. About f5.6.. between 4.5 and 6.3
This lens is fairly low contrast and flares easily. It does have some internal dust that adds to both. Admittedly, it was a pretty low contrast day today. Shot on a half frame Sony digital.

Leica IIIa - Elmar 3.5/50
I think the first three show something of the qualities of my postwar Elmar in somewhat challenging lighting.
The last two were made to compare the performance of the Elmar and the Jupiter 8. To me they are indistinguishable; I don't make any further judgements than that.
